Highly respected British shooting brands join forces A

ir Arms and Deben Group Industries have announced a new distribution and marketing partnership. From 1st August 2018, Deben, the

owner of the Hawke and Tracer brands, will become the sole distributor of Air Arms products to the UK trade, taking over from the previous distributor, John Rothery Wholesale, which has held the agency for the past 25 years. The new Deben and Air Arms

relationship means the two fi rms will be working closely together with the development of future product ranges. Claire West, managing director of Air Arms, told T&G: “Both Air Arms and Deben are strong British brands that have great track-records and these are very exciting times for us both. "We believe that this latest development will be great not only for ourselves but more importantly for the trade. Both our companies have

a very similar ethos. We both have a highly skilled and loyal workforce with a commitment to excellence and an ingrained passion for all things airgun. “The Deben group may no longer be instantly recognised as a traditional wholesaler, but they’re amazingly good at distributing own products. That’s testament to their prowess.” "As always, it is business as usual and we very much look forward to working with Deben Group Industries on all the fantastic products, service and opportunities we can offer the trade." T&G understands that a targeted marketing campaign will ensue – boosting the relevant brands’ profi les to the consumer and driving sales through the Air Arms dealer network. Ashley Walker, managing

director of Deben Group Industries added: “We are very much looking

forward to working with Air Arms in order to help grow this great British brand. We had been quietly dropping our non-core products over the past fi ve years in order to concentrate on our market-leading Hawke Optics brand, but when this opportunity presented itself we knew it was one we had to take. "Dealers can look forward to an exciting product development programme over the next few years along with a compelling commercial offering as we combine our knowledge and the power of the Hawke and Air Arms brands." The shock news broke on deadline day for this magazine. T&G will report in detail in the next issue. Until 1st August please note it is business as usual – with dealers being able to order Air Arms product directly from John Rothery Wholesale.
