Mature class line up displayed the longevity the Holstein breed has to offer.

Judge Michael Heath described his champion as the whole package: “The overall champion was extremely correct, she had the total package – length of body, length of neck and mobility. A beautiful cow with no major holes.”

Giving 63kg a day she stood reserve champion at the Royal Highland Show last summer, having stood second at Swiss Expo before being purchased. She was champion and best udder at Junior Bulle 2014, champion at Sarirne 2014, honourable mention at Sarirne 2013 and second at Swiss Expo 2012. This Atwood daughter is out of the VG89 Illens Lheros Nancy, she stood top of the five year old class

before standing senior and grand Holstein champion. Following her in to reserve spot in the Holstein championship was the second placed five year old and reserve senior champion Milliedale Dusk Rhapsody from Millie Wardle. Classified EX92 and calved last July she was producing 40kg a day on show day.

She is by Scientific SS Dusk and out of the successful show cow and greatly admired Peak Goldwyn Rhapsody EX96-3E.

Dusk Rhapsody was Honourable Mention All Britain four year old 2014, having stood first and honourable mention at UK Dairy Day and first junior cow at AgriScot 2014.

“The champion had advantage for overall length throughout, although they were similar cows that followed well together.” Honourable mention in the grand championship was the intermediate champion Riverdane Holsteins’ Riverdane SVS Atlee. Classified VG88 having calved in November she was shown giving 40kg and is projected to give 12,000kg.
