at Devon Club Calf Show five times, finishing third at the All Britain All Breeds Calf Show in 2013. She was also selected to go to the European Young Breeders School where she finished second overall. As well as her own success she has also had numerous home bred calves win their classes at the Devon Club Calf Show.


Results were announced during the 2016 Semex Conference in Glasgow.


Devon member Nicky Lockyer of the Curscombe herd was also runner up in the 2015 competition. Nicky completed a foundation degree in Agricultural Business Management at Cannington College before taking over the


management of the family farm after the unexpected and tragic death of her father.


Showing a calf for neighbour Roy Coker’s Fencombe herd sparked Nicky’s love of showing at the age of 10. Since then she has won champion showman


She has also been an organised and efficient co- ordinator of Devon HYB and was part of the team that held a successful weeked rally in 2014.


Despite facing the challenges


of TB in her own herd which often prevent her from being able to showcase her cattle, she is always willing to help youngsters with clipping and preparation to encourage them.
