HI Direct is the exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries products forming
a unique joint venture partnership between the manufacturer and distributor. MHI Direct started in 2019 with a team of thee air conditioning specialists and has now developed into a team of 18 specialists, all of whom give unrivalled pre and post product sales support. They are based across three locations in Manchester, Leeds and Harlow. The business operates a specialist sales team offering products and distribution knowledge together with manufacturing support wrapped up into one. The sales support offered by the regional teams is complemented by a specialist projects and specifications team. MHI Direct has a multi-million pound stock holding located both centrally and spread across the UK & Ireland. This stock is ready for next day delivery or collection from 48 nationwide locations. Knowing that customer’s distribution needs can change order by order, an in- house logistical solutions system is used that combines centralised and localised stock to allow projects to be collected or delivered straight to site. Spare parts to support post sales are available across these locations 24/7. The company operates on the belief
that ‘traditional sales methods’ no longer meet the majority of our customers’ needs. Today the customer wants to be supported in the most efficient, professional and knowledgeable way possible and they no longer need to ‘face to face’ meetings. MHI Direct has taken the successful parts of traditional distribution and added
more to them. For example, traditional external sales methods are replaced with internal specialist account managers who have the extra benefit of time to provide a more focused support and assist service. To ensure this support is relevant for each region, the local offices ensure there is an understanding of each area's heritage and geographical demands. The business aims to provide the best product, at a competitive price, with the best distribution, supported by in-house post-sales support. To achieve this, knowledge of MHI products and distribution is uused to understand the customer’s own business, enabling us to adapt to the individual needs of over 6000 F-Gas registered contractors. A reliable point of contact gives confidence to all customers that their business is in safe hands and customer satisfaction measured through constant feedback to ensure repeat business.
MHI Direct operates a structured training
program for all members of the internal team using four dedicated training academies in Sheffield, Walthamstow, Uxbridge and the Beijer Ref Academy Wetherby. They are trained in a variety of skill sets to ensure they add value to our customers including in-depth, in-house product training to ensure they appreciate the needs of the trade and how MHI products meet those needs. They understand product distribution, how it works, what delivery options we provide and how to deal with varying demands. This ensures that the team can adapt our distribution offer to any eventuality. The team also receives training to enable them to understand customers individual wants and needs. Our training centres also provide numerous
product training courses for our customers which can be held online or face to face.
