TRAINING

centres equipped with fully functioning examples of the latest renewable heating technologies (such as air source heat pumps and the latest CO2 condensing units) can signifi cantly improve skills, awareness and competence. Furthermore, signing up to courses that use real-life renewable products seems to strike an even greater chord with attendees. With the anticipated rise in demand for air source heat pumps across Europe, Panasonic’s factory in the Czech Republic is making a diff erence in satisfying demand. The site is experiencing a constant fl ow of visitors from across the UK and Europe to see the units not only in production but also to receive the latest updates and training on the Aquarea range of air-to-water heat pumps. Panasonic has also invested in fully equipped training facilities in the UK at both the company’s HQ in Bracknell as well as at some distributor sites. Installers who have successfully completed

training courses primed with live demonstration models and the most up to date information are more confi dent when fi tting and specifying the product for the end user, as well as being fully aware when called upon for routine inspections of the units. Today’s technological solutions also off er the ability for remote access using smart controls and connectivity to help save time and resources. It is clear to see that the eff ect is a

continuous and positive one for all. Training in this way has proven to be extremely benefi cial to installers, distributors and manufacturers alike and is central for organisational development and success. Traditionally, training courses have focused predominately on improving the skill of the installer and have generally overlooked how to provide benefi ts to the client too. Those based primarily within the classroom run the risk of neglecting the real-world skills required to deliver a successful installation as well as demonstrating the benefi ts an end-user will receive.

In order to provide as much support as possible, Panasonic has developed an integrated approach to training, encompassing the traditional hands-on, face-to-face training sessions at a fully equipped training room, as well as an online off ering that encompasses a host of digital tools.

The Panasonic online resource for registered installers – Panasonic Pro Club – off ers the latest product information, tools, guidance and support documents in addition to the latest promotions available. The tools aim to help with commissioning, installation, energy effi ciency and maintenance. To encourage more training across the

industry, Panasonic has also developed several CIBSE-accredited CPD training courses and online tools to provide further support and guidance. Furthermore, Panasonic off ers an

enhanced and longer warranty for installers to off er their customers if they have

received the appropriate training, once completed, this also gives the installer access to the Panasonic Pro Club online tools.

The online training tools available on the

site off er a system whereby consultants and engineers can progress through CPDs and various training modules – but at a time, pace and place that is convenient to them. After all, if you are connected, the

internet is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, regardless of bank holidays etc.
