From the editor Life goes on
I
’m writing this with less than 48 hours to go before we leave the EU and 31 January 2020 will go certainly go down in British history as a landmark – but for good or ill, remains to be seen.
It’s going to be a time of joy or sorrow depending on where you fall in the scale of Brexit opinion, if you even mark the occasion at all, but when we wake up on 01 February – probably with a hangover – not much will have changed. We’ll no longer have a voice in the EU and have 11 months of watching how our future will unfold throughout the transition period to look forward to. We know where we’re headed now, there is new business waiting to enter the UK and everyone wants the future to work. Chances are that things might be a bit lumpy and we’ll go into recession to some extent, but we’ll come back out of it. Processes and procedures will change, but we’ll adapt. We may even lose some friends, but we’ll gain others.
The world won’t come to an end, the sky won’t fall on our heads and life will carry on.
