FEATURE REPORT IRS
Industrial Refrigeration Services (IRS) has developed specialist energy surveillance solutions to help large food manufacturers plan for a greener future with a reduced carbon footprint and energy cost savings.
Managing director Mark Parsons said: “Often legacy systems have been added onto and poor effi ciency can arise through uninsulated pipework and poorly maintained machinery. Where possible we always like to enhance free cooling from ambient ventilation and harnessing heat displacement to reduce building heating costs. Any business which has high cooling and heating costs will benefi t from our new energy surveillance solutions, where smart thinking can save thousands of pounds each year.”

Johnson Controls
Johnson Controls has introduces a new range of York absorption chillers (YHAU) and heat pumps (YHAP), with the most diverse, modern and fl exible off ering to the European market. These units can use a variety of driving heat resources like hot water, steam, gas, light oil or exhaust gas.
Both the YHAU chillers and YHAP heat pumps use water as refrigerant, which results in zero ozone depletion, and makes these units highly sustainable and effi cient. Common applications include industrial processes; combined heat and power (CHP); commercial buildings; turbine inlet air cooling and district energy systems.

PRODUCT NEWS Reznor
Reznor, part of Nortek Global HVAC (UK) Ltd, Europe’s leading developer and manufacturer of energy effi cient HVAC systems has launched the P125, a packaged cooling and heating unit. The new range of units have been developed utilising the proven engineering expertise gained by Reznor with over
125 years of manufacturing HVAC equipment.
In order to maintain comfort conditions within a building, along with air quality and humidity, a HVAC system must be able to deal with all climatic variables. Reznor’s range of rooftop units comprising models YDSA, YDHA and YDMA, have been developed with these factors in mind.

Cooltech
Magnetic refrigeration company Cooltech Applications SAS, has partnered with Structural Concepts, a leading display cases manufacturer in Michigan, USA, to integrate Cooltech’s magnetic refrigeration
system (MRS) into some of Structural Concepts’ self-contained display cases.
The MRS utilizes a water coolant instead of a refrigerant gas—a major contributor to climate change—resulting in an eco-friendly solution. Besides eliminating the use of pollutant refrigerant gases and noisy compressors, MRS cuts energy consumption by up to 50 percent, and boosts reliability and safety.
The MRS is in beta testing at several sites in Europe in various Sanhua
Sanhua is off ering the new SHF valves in place of the Ranco four-way reversing valves. As of June 2016, all Ranco reversing valves C, N, V, VH series have been offi cially in phase out with deliveries based on residual stock availability until the end of 2016. The replacement Sanhua SHF four-way reversing valves range is broader, with
nominal capacities from 3 to 420kW (R410A, working condition 2). Sanhua can off er improved lead-times due to a more effi cient production process, and the new design of the slide is optimised for partial loads. It makes SHF range suitable for use with variable refrigerant fl ow systems. Contact your local Sanhua offi ce: Mark Allen, mark@

Trane has launched XStream, a new range of water-cooled screw chillers into Europe and the Middle East. This generation of chillers addresses the needs of building owners who are looking for high
operational effi ciency, versatility of applications, and the best return on investment to off set rising energy costs. The XStream range off ers high capacities of up to 2.3 MW and delivers
effi ciency confi gurations that can be tailored to customers’ needs. The XStream XE model off ering Net EER value of 5.72 (5.88 Gross EER) and the XStream HSE unit reaches 7.49 Net (7.69 Gross) ESEER value.
