mid the continuing workforce shortage, senior living providers are searching for ways to attract and retain good employees everywhere – even in building designs. Frontline workers are being brought into the design process. How

does the building affect them? What do they want? The look, feel, and size of breakrooms is getting lots of attention. Efficiency counts, too. A friendly design considers how workers move through the space to ease their workload. The pandemic has had a big impact. Workers are burned out. They need places to decompress. Access to a dedicated outdoor space for employees is also important. Good ventilation and fresh air are a priority.
