Vacuum Division of industrial blower services to represent Koks Group in the UK

Over the past few years, the Vacuum Division of Industrial Blower Services has generated a fine reputation for its expertise with truck mounted vacuum systems. Now, the company is delighted to be able to announce that they have been appointed UK Agents for the Netherlands based Koks Group.

Despite the fact that the agency is only a matter of weeks old, the Vacuum Division has had an early success with the sale of a Koks EcoVac to a Hartlepool based contractor where the EcoVac will be used to deal with a wide range of hazardous substances, such as liquids, sludge, fats, oils, fuels and chemicals.

The KOKS EcoVac is one of a vast range of different truck, container and skid mounted systems that will now be available through the Vacuum Division in the UK. While the EcoVac has been designed to handle wet products in the oil & gas, chemical, drain & Sewerage and waste industries, models are available to handle dry products such as aggregates, cement and ash.

James Ilott manages the Vacuum Division of Industrial Blower Services: “Over the past few years we have worked with a number of smaller manufacturers for specific industries. With Koks, we are now able to offer our customers a huge range of options and, therefore be able to tailor a machine specifically for individual customers.”

Koks Group will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Trade fair venue of IFAT 2018. This is the main trade exhibition the water, sewage and waste industries and will take place in Munich from 14th to 18th May. A team from the Vacuum Division will be on the stand to welcome UK customers.

At the time of writing, the number stands at 268, including the sector’s first achiever, first female engineer and the first to achieve on the new water process engineer standard.

The EUIAS marked its 1st and 100th achievers in July 2016 and October 2017 respectively by celebrating at the Houses of Parliament, events which were attended by a host of VIPs, including representatives from the Institute for Apprenticeships, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Apprenticeships, the Department for Education, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Ofgem.

The EUIAS has been appointed on the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s Register of End-point Assessment Organisations to deliver end-point assessment for nine of the new ‘Trailblazer’ standards in England that Energy & Utility Skills had developed in partnership with sector employers. These are safety critical, high quality technical apprenticeships within niche specialist areas that are vital to support our national infrastructure for power, water and gas.

Thousands of apprentices from over 30 leading sector employers are currently undertaking apprenticeships on a wide range of standards, supported by employers who are passionate about raising the bar and profile of apprenticeships more widely. On completion of the apprenticeship, they secure occupations in roles that are critical to the UK economy and productivity, and a career pathway that is full of opportunity for individual progression. The EUIAS is currently providing end-point assessment for apprentices within major utility-based organisations such as E.ON, Electricity North West, Grosvenor, Morrison Utility Services, National Grid, Northern Powergrid, SSE, Severn Trent Water, Siemens, via Search
