Drain-EX 2018
GLASGOW HARROGATE 18th May 2018 GLASGOW SCIENCE CENTRE
31st May - 2nd June 2018 HARROGATE CONVENTION CENTRE
events for the drainage, water & wastewater industries What these events could bring to you
Continuing the series of Drain-Ex events which launched last year, Drain Trader is this year offering two locations for the drainage industry to see and experience the latest technologies, equipment and services, with a view to continuing further events into the future.
On 18 May there will be a one-day event by way of a Roadshow at the Glasgow Science Centre and between 31 May and 2 June the full Drain-Ex exhibition will once again be at the Harrogate Convention Centre. Entry to both events is free of charge but visitors are recommended to register beforehand.
Both events are designed specifically to be of interest to those client, consultant and contracting companies operating in the water and drainage sectors, with the aim of not only introducing the latest technologies and services to engineers across the whole industry spectrum but also to raise standards across the industry.
IMPORTANT TO THE INDUSTRY
Why are events such as Drain-Ex an important part of the overall industry performance? As any Engineer, Contractor, Specifier, Buyer or Fleet manager for Water Authorities/Companies, Drainage Authorities/Companies, Local Authorities and Agencies, Engineering Consultancies, Drainage Companies, Construction Companies and Civil Engineering Companies will know it is almost impossible to get all the information that might be useful to you by talking to company reps,

equipment manufacturer’s agents etc. on a one-to-one basis, there is simply not the time or the resources to get everyone together on that footing.
These types of show do however offer the opportunity for all those that need to be up to date with the full range of what is available to them to complete their work effectively, both in terms of engineering and cost, to get that information in one place in a short timeframe. They also enable the exchange of ideas and new applications of existing methods to be shared effectively.
From the exhibitors viewpoint this also enables their sales and marketing teams to get face-to-face with more potential and existing clients than could be possible by travelling the country, if not the world, on a daily basis. This in turn enables the equipment and service providers to bring to a wide range of visitors the latest developments and innovations across the industry.
How is this achieved? First there is the exhibition with which we are all familiar. Some of the companies exhibiting and the products and services they will be bring to both events are detailed below and include some new product launches to whet the appetite.
Further to this for the Glasgow event there is also a programme of seminars. At the time of writing two seminars are confirmed for Glasgow with potentially a couple of others (keep an eye on the website for further confirmations).
The two seminars confirmed to date are:
• Best Practice In The Drainage Industry – Weeding Out The Rogues by Andrew Greatorex, Operations Director at DASA.
• Facebook Beware, A New Kind Of Business Network Is Unblocking The Drainage Sector by Richard Harris, CEO, Okappy Ltd
With a programme still to be confirmed, Drain Trader is also investigating the potential for a series of ‘pop-up’ seminars at the Drain-Ex Harrogate event. So if you have any particular topic that you feel may be suited to such a seminar please contact Drain Trader with your ideas using email:
