The right design for Engineers
When Grundfos wanted to create an on-line hub for engineers, they knew the best place to start was by speaking to a number of specialist engineers, from different backgrounds, all of whom had one thing in common - their roles meant they needed to specify pumps.
Regardless of whether you are a commercial or industrial engineer or work within the wastewater segment, you will find information that has been specifically designed to work with you. The topics covered are as varied as: building in higher performance into both small and large projects; how to design water extraction in diverse conditions; a wide range of case studies from around the world; or can you opt to watch a video from different Grundfos product experts on a host of themes.
With direct links to the Grundfos Product Center (GPC) a pump selection tool that will help you to specify the ideal solution for both new and retrofit applications, or you can access some training support via the link from here to the on-line Grundfos Ecademy that is open to visit 24/7, you can choose what suits your specific needs.
Today our Grundfos for Engineers platform is continuing to evolve and it will always benefit from our listening to what engineers need to help support them. Perhaps this is why is has become a favourite with the thousands of engineers who visit the UK site.
Sykes Pumps launches fuel efficient GP80 ECO fuel efficiency of just 1.4 litres per hour.
Pump hire specialist, Sykes Pumps, has added the GP80 eco to its eco range of diesel pumps, providing an ideal solution for construction and civil engineering sites as well as utilities, local authorities, industrial, marine, quarries and leisure.
Featuring a silenced engine offering tier 4 compliance for discreet deployment in residential and noise-sensitive areas, the 3” diesel pump has an integral 35 litre fuel tank enabling continuous operation for 24 hours.
Capable of heads of up to 24m and a maximum flow rate of 36 litres/second, the new pump compares favourably with other 3” pumps on the market and provides a solids handling capability of 40mm, making it suitable for even the most demanding of sites.
The pump has been designed for easy deployment on site and ease of use in a variety of noise sensitive environments, including applications in the utilities, local authority, industrial, marine, quarrying and leisure sectors, in addition to construction and civil engineering. The compact unit features a built-in fuel tank enabling full functionality within seconds of arrival on site, with quick release couplings for swift installation and excellent manoeuvrability.
Comments Sykes Pumps’ sales director, Chris Graham: “This pump is small in terms of size but big in terms of performance, offering high flow rates and discharge pressures for installations where hose runs are required, despite its enviable

“Fast and easy to install, cheap to run and offering a robust solution for a wide range of environments, it is a natural step up from our popular entry level Minivac eco and an ideal choice for sites where fuel efficiency, flow rates and noise control are critical.”
The GP80 eco replaces Sykes Pumps’ former GP80 model as an energy efficient upgrade designed to meet the needs of a variety of customers and applications. It is part of a continuous investment in new pump assets and technology at Sykes Pumps, which has 25 local depots across the UK.
Chris adds: “We understand that our customers rely on us for energy efficient, high performance solutions and our investment in the new GP80 eco is designed to answer both of those requirements.”
