2015 Merged with US rival IHS Company Developments


In July 2015, Markit announced the completion of its acquisition of Information Mosaic, a leading software provider for corporate actions and post trade securities processing. The Information Mosaic business is being integrated into Markit’s Solutions division and will be led by Paul Taylor, managing director.


Markit launched WSO Credit Manager in Oct 2015, a credit and portfolio analysis application for investment professionals focused on bank loans. Credit Manager was designed in partnership with CVC Credit Partners and other industry experts. The application helps portfolio managers and credit analysts make investment decisions by centralising the data they need to select investments, monitor credit performance and identify risk. It also streamlines credit selection with screening functions that filter investment opportunities based on technical and fundamental criteria. Markit also announced the launch of its Know Your Third


Party (KY3P™) service hosted by Dell Cloud Services in Oct 2015. KY3P is the first centralised, cloud based data hub that simplifies and standardises third party risk management processes focusing on vendor due diligence and ongoing monitoring. Created in partnership with banks, buyside firms and third parties, the patent-pending KY3P™ service

will be positioned to drive industry standardisation of risk management practices to facilitate effective operational risk management of third party products and services. Barclays, HSBC and Morgan Stanley will be working with Markit to onboard their third parties onto the data hub. Markit announced the acquisition of CoreOne Technologies in Oct 2015, a global leading provider of regulatory reporting, index management, data management and prime brokerage services to financial institutions. The acquisition strengthens Markit’s Information and Solutions businesses with CoreOne’s capabilities in regulatory reporting, index and ETF services, and data management services. In addition, it extends Markit’s capabilities into prime brokerage.


Markit completed yet another acquisition of DealHub (September 2015), a leading provider of trade processing and trading services to the foreign exchange market. The acquisition complements Markit’s growing business in FX and enables Markit to offer customers a comprehensive solution for FX across venue connectivity, trading services, trade confirmation and management, clearing and regulatory reporting. DealHub will form part of Markit’s Processing division. In September 2016, IHS announced that it had acquired Intermat, a leading provider of parts optimization software tools and services. The two companies were engaged in a strategic partnership for over a year prior to the acquisition. Intermat solutions would henceforth be sold under the IHS brand.
