Budapest-based Loxon was set up in 2000 by a couple of university graduates, Kristóf Farkas and Tamás Erni, who had worked for a time at Raiffeisen. Early work was with this bank, on bespoke development projects. Banks in central Europe often had western core systems but these were seldom tailored for the market so tended to be surrounded by satellite systems. The founders of Loxon felt there was a lack of strong risk management and lending offerings.
