Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church Marion, South Dakota Randell J. Maass, Pastor Outreach Pastor Jesse Walhof has

completed his year of internship with our church in preparation for full-time ministry. Our congregation has benefit- ed as well as Jesse shared his love for the homeless and underprivileged with us. He has contacted residents of nearby Dolton, and other folks have reached out to him with needs to be met. Te “Life of John the Baptist” was his chosen theme for a series of messages in spring. Our pastors and congregation joined

the Marion Community Worship on June 19 at the Marion HS Gym. Pastor Randy is the senior member of the local ministeri- al, and his leadership is appreciated. Evelyn Duerksen, Correspondent

Church, we hosted a breakfast and service in the park for our annual Dalmeny Days Weekend. We joined the Community Church for their worship service on the July long weekend, and they joined our service on the August long weekend. Pastor Dennis and four other delegates

attended the FEBC Convention. So Gil Klassen with Youth for Christ preached on “How Will You Spend $25 Today?” Aſter the service we enjoyed an outdoor BBQ lunch to raise funds for the YFC ministry. 33 children participated in the Athletes

in Action Soccer Camp (athletesinaction. com) hosted by our church from July 18–22. A soup lunch raised funds for the youth camp in Talnoe, Ukraine. We also had a commissioning service for five ladies who made a Freedom Climb (thefreedom- challenge.com/16-canada) in August. Tis involved climbing a mountain in Fernie,

B.C., to make people aware of the human trafficking crisis in Canada. Marilyn Harder, Correspondent

Stuartburn Gospel Chapel Stuartburn, Manitoba Mark Funk, Pastor Once again, we find ourselves dis-

persed in fields and gardens occupied with planting and growing for a future harvest. Fisher Bay and Roseau River Bible Camps are seeded, and many of our church fami- lies will be spending significant time there pulling weeds, watering and nurturing new growth. In the process, we also find our own characters are strengthened and matured as we persevere in service. A father/son campout in July and

potluck lunches every Sunday aſter service build our family relationships. Pastor Mark also initiated a once-a-month prayer night. We gather to pray for our community and neighbors and to ask for God’s direction as we reach out to them with the Good News and the love of Christ.

Richer Fellowship Church Richer, Manitoba Ben Funk, Pastor New membership classes were sparked

by people beginning to talk about how to become part of our church. Tese were followed by a membership Sunday. Our church rejoiced to see several people follow Christ in an outdoor baptism on July 31. A celebration lunch followed the baptism event. Richer Fellowship has invited Teen

Challenge to teach a three-month course entitled “Concerned Persons.” Tis will help family and friends of people in addictions. It gives them support and help to not only survive through the mess that their loved one is creating with their selfish lifestyle, but helps them to be strong and to create boundaries so they are not being taken advantage of. Tis class will begin in the second

week of September and continue again in Baptisms at Richer Fellowship Focus, September/October 2016 19

January and May 2017. Tis is depending, of course, on the interest in the church and the community. Baptisms: Four in July Ben and Marjorie Funk, Correspondents

Langham Evangelical Bible Church Langham, Saskatchewan Greg Guarnett, Pastor Summertime in Saskatchewan is a time

for recreation and recharging — some of us run on solar power and need lots of time in the sun! It’s also the time that our church focuses on ministry through Vacation Bible School. Many of the community children who came to our Cave Quest VBS program are from broken homes and
