Te Commission on Churches
gave each pastor two books: Gospel Conversations and Gospel-Centered Counseling: How Christ Changes Lives (Equipping Biblical Counselors), both by Robert W. Kellemen. Later in the fall, Chris Boucher will hold a series of webinars for pastors based on these books to help them increase their skills in soul care. Four pastors were approved for ordi-

Crosspoint Hosts 2016 Convention In spite of a building project which created detours and closed-
off areas, Crosspoint Bible Church of Omaha did an exceptional job of hosting the 2016 FEBC Convention. Church hosts Carl and Marlene Kuhns organized the event with the help of many Crosspoint volunteers.
By the Numbers • 98 registrants plus many local and walk-in guests • 21 Crosspoint families hosted 50 guests • 55 Crosspoint volunteers provided registration, host homes, transportation, meal service, worship, tech support, child-care, and facility support
• 377 lunches and 437 dinners were served • 750 snacks and gallons of coffee, lemonade, tea and water were consumed

ordain pastors. Meet our newly ordained pastors on page 8. One pastor, Jeremy Wissink (Community Bible, Omaha), was
relicensed by the commission. Licensing is the first step toward ordination in the credentialing process. Each year at convention, pastors are given time for a meal
together to get to know one another. Tey enjoyed this informal time on Tursday evening. Te Commission on Churches provided a break-out session
on “Soul Care and the Elder Role” presented by Chris Boucher. Another session was held on Saturday with Jeff Friesen and Chris Boucher introducing the web training scheduled for fall which will use the books given to pastors.
Commission on Church Planting Darrell Derksen, Chair of CoCP made three significant announce-
ments regarding new church plants in our Fellowship: Prairie West Extension has informed the CoCP that they have
put an agreement in place with Dave and Clarissa Cornelius to be our church planters in Saskatoon, Sask. We celebrate our interac- tions with the Dalmeny Bible Church Elder Board in their working with us in this process. Dave will continue as their youth pastor in Dalmeny until spring/summer 2017 and then become our church planter in the city of Saskatoon. We celebrate with Faith Evangelical Bible Church of Winkler, Man.,
in their planting Emmaus Church this spring. Tey are sharing joint leadership and a joint ministry leadership team. Tis is a significant step of faith. Tey purchased a building, and have moved one-half of the original congregation (approximately 150 people) from Faith Evangeli- cal Bible Church to Emmaus. We celebrate with Crosspoint in the launch of the Bennington Cam-
pus. Tey have grown to over 100 people. Tey make their Sunday home in the Heritage Elementary School. Crosspoint functions with one leadership team and shared ministries while meeting in two locations.
