Robert and Carolyn Lee In 1975 Bob and Carolyn leſt for
Papau New Guinea where they worked for 33 years as a translating team in the Madak language. Carolyn invested her time in being a wife, mother, homemaker, and school teacher for their children. Whenever possible, she assisted Bob in the translating and literature work. It was their joy to see the whole New Testament translated, published, and made available to the Madak people, along with thou- sands of pieces of literature. Bob also served as Regional Asst. Direc-
tor of Wycliffe’s Island Region of Papau New Guinea and Translation Consultant, and Director’s Assistant for Technical Studies. Bob and Carolyn leſt the field in 2008
and now carry on their work from Omaha. Twice a year they have traveled back to help train people in two other language groups so they can do the translation work for their own languages. Even aſter they officially retire this year, they want to con- tinue assisting in the translation work.
Robert and Marilyn Ehle Bob and Marilyn were married in 1957
while attending Moody Bible Institute. In 1966 they began ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ training laity and pas- tors in the United States and Canada. Bob went on to become the founding director of Leadership Encounter in Germany. Charles Colson helped kick off their min- istry in Germany when he came to Bonn in fall of 1980. Te Ehles made their first trip to Africa
in October 1989 on behalf of the Canadi- an Embassy to set up a six-country evan- gelistic tour for former astronaut Charlie Duke of Apollo 16 moon walk fame. Tey
travelled with the team in January 1990. Bob later served as co-logistics coordinator for the CoMission, travelling frequently to former Soviet Union countries from 1992-97. Tey have also been involved with
Finishers Forum and Global Aid Network in the United States to the present. Teir home church is Grace Evangelical
Bible Church, Abbotsford, B.C. Not only did the church give opportunities for min- istry within the church, but its support, friendship, and love have been essential ingredients of their lives during both good and challenging times. Te church provid- ed the framework for their four children to grow socially and spiritually. On behalf of the Commission on
Missions and the FEBC we desire to give glory to God and recognize them for their length of service to God. May God contin- ue to bless you!
Waldo and Lynette Goossen Since he was a teenager, Waldo was
drawn to Kenya. He tried to envision himself serving in aviation in various other mission settings, but God kept bringing Kenya to mind. At one point he signed up for a mission trip, not knowing the des- tination — it turned out to be Kenya. At the end of those two months in Nairobi, Africa Inland Mission (AIM) invited him to return aſter graduation from Moody Bible Institute, and so began his journey with AIM and AIM AIR.
Lynette attended Grace College of the
Bible in Omaha, where she was challenged to allow the Lord to take her wherever he wanted. Tat led to a mission trip to Venezuela. Aſter graduation she taught elementary grades at Central Christian in Hutchinson, Kansas. During the summer she took another mission trip to Japan. In her second year of teaching in Kansas, she and Waldo met. Tey had a long-distance relationship for about a year before she arrived at Riſt Valley Academy in 1988 to teach second grade. Tey were married at Jansen Bible Church on August 5, 1989. Waldo was accepted as a single
missionary in 1986, arriving in Kenya the following year. Waldo performed installation and maintenance of aircraſt electronics and electrical equipment and carried out inspections of mission aircraſt. He served as liaison with government agencies. As a member of the Africa Inland Church Plainsview Local Church Council, he served as secretary of the congregation’s building committee. He served as a dele- gate to AIM’s International Council; was a member of AIM’s International Services Board; was a member of trustees of AIM’s assets in Africa; and also was an Organi- zational Warden for AIM in Nairobi in relation to the U.S. Embassy there. Lynette’s ministry over the years
included teaching at Riſt Valley Academy; holding Backyard Bible Clubs, teaching religious education in the Kenyan schools, and teaching Junior Church, as well as mothering, leadership in Bible Study Fellowship, and being a receptionist at the mission guest house. Waldo and Lynette presently live in
Omaha, attend Crosspoint Bible Church, and are involved in various ministries.
