The final TMP shall confirm the exact locations of each cable crossing and present the methods, dates, timings, durations and mitigating measures required to accommodate such road works as may be necessary.

Temporary management of pedestrian traffic and footpath/bridleway diversions over the duration of the construction period has been considered by EAOW and options have been presented to the Highways Authority as part of the DCO process.


27 Where Public Rights of Way (PRoW) are routed alongside construction traffic additional traffic management measures will be installed to maximise pedestrian and others’ safety.

In particular, in regard to pedestrian safety at Sandy Lane south of Woodbridge, EAOL will consider creation of a temporary footway within the Order Limits for the duration of construction of that stage of works. This temporary footway would be adjacent and to the south of Sandy Lane, within the Order Limits. It could run from the northernmost point of the Order Limits at the Martlesham HDD (Access ‘N2’, Sheet 12 of 22 of Access to Works Plan) as far south as the hedgerow subject to mini-HDD to the east of Sandy Lane.


29 All traffic management measures for each road crossing would be submitted and approved by the Highway Authority.


1.8 Construction Route Appraisal


30 An appraisal of the existing road network necessary to accommodate construction related traffic has been undertaken to identify where road improvements may be required to facilitate the works.

The route appraisals have taken into consideration such features pertinent to the geometry and safety of the proposed route for the size of vehicle proposed. These included:


Road width Traffic volume and capacity Visibility along route Extent of hedgerows and trees along verges Level of route in relation to adjacent land
