21.7.1 Potential cumulative impacts during Construction 124. Under the two scenarios for the construction of East Anglia ONE, East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR projects, either:

Cumulative Scenario 1 - East Anglia ONE is constructed and installs ducts for East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR followed by reinstatement of ground. East Anglia THREE cables are pulled through and later East Anglia FOUR cables are pulled through; or

Cumulative Scenario 2 - East Anglia THREE is constructed and installs ducts for East Anglia FOUR followed by reinstatement of ground. East Anglia FOUR cables later are pulled through.

125. Under either scenario the first project would undertake major preparatory works for the following project therefore cumulative impacts would arise from cable pulling and jointing operations (and construction of jointing pits) and the construction of the converter stations. For the cumulative impact therefore, the first project to be built will have the greatest magnitude of impact with subsequent projects having smaller and more localised overall impact magnitudes (at the jointing pits, access points to these and at the converter station location).

126. The area covered by the onshore electrical transmission works including access would be reinstated after construction of the first project (with the exception of the permanent structures at the converter station locations).

127. In summary, it is expected that the cumulative impacts of construction would be similar for both Scenario 1 and Scenario 2, noting that under Scenario 1 there would be three projects and under Scenario 2 two projects.

128. The majority of major schemes listed in Table 21.16 have no spatial overlap with the East Anglia THREE onshore electrical transmission works including access.

21.7.1.1 Cumulative Impact 1: Impacts to Statutory Designated Sites 129. With regards to East Anglia One, East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR projects, at the landfall there are no wetland habitats within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths ANOB and therefore no pathway for cumulative impacts.

130. The onshore cable routes crosses two statutory designated sites, however, all wetlands significant water bearing areas within the designated site will be crossed via HDD therefore there would be no direct impact and no pathway for cumulative
