technology firm Get Going. Technology developed by Get Going currently powers BCD’s Tripsource Hotels, which it claims provides clients access to more properties globally than are available in GDSs.
Norwegian
is starting long-haul flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport this summer. The low-cost carrier will launch four times- weekly flights to New York JFK from July 29, twice weekly services to LA from July 30, and weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale (for Miami) starting August 4.
SHAHEEN AIR
is to launch flights from Manchester to Islamabad this month. The Pakistan airline will offer a thrice-weekly service to Benazir Bhutto International airport from March 15, with flights departing Manchester on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Holiday Inn is to open
its Manchester city centre property in April. The 298-room four-star hotel will feature Holiday Inn’s signature Open Lobby concept and new meetings facilities. Located in the Piccadilly area of the city, the hotel will offer 24-hour dining facilities and 12 meeting rooms.
IRAN AIR
has signed a deal worth US$25 billion for the
purchase of 118 Airbus aircraft. The agreement sees the Iranian flag carrier order 73 widebody and 45 single-aisle aircraft, as well as pilot and maintenance training and support services. It follows the removal of economic sanctions against the country earlier this year after the signing of an international deal on the future of its nuclear programme.

VIRGIN TRAINS
is adding 42 services a week between Edinburgh and London from May. The rail operator will boost seat capacity by 22,000 a week on the route, an increase of almost one third. Travellers on the service between the two capitals will see four new departures daily in each direction, ensuring a half-hour frequency throughout most of the day. Two additional services will be added on Sundays.
Philippines Airlines
is increasing frequency to daily on its Manila-London service from June 28. The carrier relaunched direct flights to London in 2013, and last year upped the number of departures from three to five a week.
