Chinaplas 2016 | exhibition review
The main focus of the Leistritz stand was the com- pany’s ZSE CC extruder, its fi rst model designed specifi cally for the Chinese and Asian markets. Intended for introduction around the end of the year, the ZSE CC range will extend to four sizes with screw diameters of 27, 40, 50 and 60mm and will be built at the company’s facility at Taicang on the outskirts of Shanghai. “The ZSE MAXX twin screw extruders are manufac-
tured in Germany and therefore are too cost-intensive for many projects here,” said Leistritz Managing Director Anton Furst. “We want to offer an alternative to our Asian customers in order for them to be able to benefi t from the machine and processing competence of Leistritz.”
The CC (which the company says stands for Classic Compounder) is said to combine German design and engineering with local sourcing and assembly. All models will offer an OD/ID ratio of 1.50 and a specifi c torque value of 10.5N/mm2
. Maximum screw speed is 1,000rpm.

The units will be installed in a new production facility for bottle grade PET and will deliver pelletised resin direct to an EcoSphere solid state polycondensa- tion (SSP) system. By using the thermal energy in the polymer for the subsequent crystallisation process, the CrystallCut underwater pelletizing units are said to be highly energy effi cient.
