Shades of Grey

The recent surge in popularity of grey flooring, has had experts in the industry wondering whether the grey trend is simply a fad or potentially timeless. Search trend data shows an increased interest in grey flooring over the past year and it doesn’t look likely to dip anytime soon.

It looks like the colour grey is here to stay. It’s quickly become a favourite among those wanting to achieve a clean, classic look throughout their homes.

Soft greys have proven to be particularly popular on Pinterest which is a great shade to introduce once spring arrives, as brighter colours, like yellow, can be introduced without the risk of clashing décor.

Blondie

Blonde is a shade which is quickly growing in popularity. It works with oak, bamboo and solid wood flooring and is ideal for the spring and summer as it can add a little warmth to any room.

Our solid wood flooring range drives a lot of traffic to our website which helps us predict what the next wood flooring trend will be.

Whilst many will opt for a medium or dark wood, as it’s thought of as more forgiving, blonde shades of flooring are stylish and can make even the smallest of rooms look more spacious. We are expecting lighter shades of flooring, particularly blonde, to be really popular come spring.

18 | Tomorrow’s Retail Floors Material World

Eco-friendly flooring has taken the industry by storm with materials such as cork and bamboo increasing in popularity. These renewable and biodegradable materials are a (stylish) way to tell the world you care about the environment and come in a plethora of colours and styles to choose from.

Eco-friendly flooring is as much about choice as it is about trends. We predict that, with the environment often at the forefront of the news, more people will be choosing renewable, biodegradable flooring in 2017.

A Passion for Pattern

Geometric, angular and artistic parquet flooring is unique and is making a comeback. Whilst there are many different types of parquet flooring, the contemporary-traditional parquet pattern is increasingly popular and on trend for this Spring/Summer. Incorporating a pattern into your kitchen or living area adds character, elegance and is a shabby-chic alternative.
