For Liam Walker, of independent flooring store Best at Flooring, flooring is in his blood. From an early age, Liam spent his Saturday’s helping his father and uncle out at their family flooring business and officially joined the team when he was 16, working part-time through sixth form and university. After graduating from university in 2014, Liam decided to pursue the business as a full-time career.
With over 60 years worth of experience within the flooring market, the Leeds-based business has been supplying flooring to a wide variety of customers via its retail stores for decades and expanded its reach further when it branched out to online flooring.

Liam explained how this came about, saying: “Around eight years ago, we began selling off all of our odd boxes of stock online, doing so to begin with on eBay. Due to the success of this, we saw a massive online opportunity for the business.
“It was vital for us to have an online presence - we are always looking for new ways to sell our products, and I feel it’s a real advantage to gain visibility. As a result, we have become a national brand.”
As well as the obvious technological benefits from selling online, advancements in technology have helped to improve many other aspects of the business.
