WHAT’S NEW?
BFG ANNOUNCES
CLOSURE The Building Futures Group has announced that the company has ceased trading.
This decision has been made following two years in business providing training and membership services to Britain’s building maintenance, management and services sectors.
The Building Futures Group was founded in 2013 following the merger of Asset Skills and the Facilities Management Association, who came together to form a trade association and training body dedicated to fulfilling the representative needs of the facilities management and cleaning sectors.
During the last two years, The Building Futures Group has secured 140 corporate members and launched Asset Skills Training, which has developed 160 courses and trained over 2,750 individuals.
The Group has committed to encouraging sustainable behaviour and corporate social responsibility in the sector. Examples include its Low Carbon Skills Challenge Project and the Dignity and Respect Task Group.
The BFG said, "We would like to thank all members, employees and other stakeholders for their continued support over the last two years and hope that the industry as a whole continues to prosper."
CLOUDFM WINS
WOLSELEY UK CONTRACT Wolseley UK, the UK’s leading distributor of plumbing and heating products, has appointed Cloudfm to manage all planned and reactive maintenance across its extensive estate.
Cloudfm brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the estate, having managed the facilities at Wolseley UK’s head office in Leamington Spa for the last three years. During that time, the Cloudfm team also helped Wolseley UK to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” rating and advised on the build of its European Data Centre, which recently won an RAC Cooling Award.
Appointing Cloudfm to manage maintenance across Wolseley UK’s property portfolio, which comprises circa 1000 buildings over 750 sites in the UK and Northern Ireland, was an easy decision, as John Page,
National Facilities and Property Compliance Manager for Wolseley UK, explained:
“Over the past three years Cloudfm has proved to be an excellent FM partner. Working together we’ve delivered significant improvements in quality and service, matched by considerable savings. Cloudfm’s proactive approach, backed up by technical expertise and a positive attitude, has made a huge difference to the way we manage the facilities at our head office.”
CEO of Cloudfm, Jeff Dewing, is delighted to be extending the relationship: “It’s great to be working with a client who shares our commitment to quality and innovation. We’re looking forward to a long partnership, building on the success of the past three years to deliver even greater control, efficiency and visibility of FM to Wolseley UK.”
