London cleaning firm JPC has won an award for service at Chiswick Park, here they explain how additional apprenticeships and classes are keeping staff motivated and helping to win awards, improve services, boost morale and win contracts.
All you have to do is scratch the surface and you’ll see the huge effort that JPC’s bosses have made to ensure that the contract cleaning team operates with the same ethos of the business park itself - enjoying work.
More than that, JPC has instilled a high level of employee engagement; English classes, training courses,

skills programs and management development. This ensures they not only retain the best staff but encourage them to develop and grow in their own individual roles.
Contracts Manager Sandrino Vieira is in charge of cleaning the 33-acre site in west London which is used by 8,000 people every day. It’s the
biggest contract on JPC’s books and there are 74 members of staff on the cleaning side alone. If you add in engineers and security too it totals more than 120.
While Sandrino admits that many people think cleaners are “bottom of the food chain”, JPC is changing that perception day by day. “We are proud
