AWARDS 2015 TOMORROW’S FM
DODDLE DODDLE
Doddle is the UK’s first fully-dedicated and staffed service for collecting, returning and sending parcels. They have a network of shops, located in and around train stations and high footfall hubs across the country. The service is designed to address the challenges faced by companies who allow employees to have their online shopping purchases delivered to work, and are now struggling to cope with the volumes involved.
Doddle offers corporate deals to businesses on both a national and local basis to cover providing a collection point for all personal employee parcel deliveries. Notably, it can be used to collect items from any retailer, unlike other solutions in the marketplace that are tied to specific ones, providing the only service that enables customers to combine multiple collections and returns at a time that suits them or coincides with an already planned journey.
Doddle Shops are also conveniently located in and around key business districts. Other benefits include longer opening hours designed to facilitate the extended working day.
In addition, Doddle shops can also be used to send parcels using a range of different carriers, enabling companies to benefit from a consolidated B2B rate for all their business tenants located in a single building.
DRAUGHTEX DRAUGHTEX
The Energy Savings Trust believes that between £75 and £95 a year can be saved through better floor insulation in an average detached house; imagine how that would be multiplied in a large estate. For FM managers running older buildings, notably those with uncovered wooden floorboards, this is an area that is worthy of investigation.
DraughtEx is a product designed to eliminate draughts and reduce overall heat loss by successfully and permanently plugging the gaps between floorboards. It has been manufactured with thousands of concealed air pockets, which allow the sealant to be compressed by almost 90% of its original profile.
These flexible properties allow DraughtEx to be pushed into floorboard gaps much smaller than its original width by stretching it during the installation process. Once the floorboard filler is in the gap it will expand until it fills it. It also works well to fill any spaces between the floorboard and skirting board.
No special skills are needed for installation; it’s a simple process.
DraughtEx comes on a roll with a special applicator allowing it to be pressed into the gaps where it expands to form the perfect seal. There is no mess and its neutral colour means that it is hardly visible.
