Kärcher’s SGV 8/5 steam vacuum cleaner entered the market in October with some new features never before seen on a steam vac, including a self-clean function and detergent option. The unique self-cleaning system automatically removes deposits inside the steam vac itself after every use, significantly prolonging the life of the machine and reducing the risk of problems associated with fat and grease build-up inside hoses and moving parts. The detergent function is ideal for deep cleaning of large areas like floors, or where a shine or fragrance is preferred.
Because steam vacuums often need to be used in confined areas like kitchens and bathrooms, the SGV features a small footprint, and a high handle and large wheels make it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces. A 4m suction hose and water/steam and vacuum controls built in to the handle often mean that the machine can be left outside the room being cleaned.
The eco!efficiency mode reduces power consumption to reduce operating costs, and at the same time the noise level is lowered to 64 dB(A). This makes SGV steam vacuum cleaners ideal for use in noise-sensitive areas such as retirement homes and care facilities, canteens and hotels.
SPACEVAC SPACEVAC TECHNOLOGIES
SpaceVac launched in August as part of a new generation of high-reach gutter cleaning equipment.
Operated from ground level, the new high level cleaning system has four major features: it removes operational guesswork as it comes with a CCTV camera on the cleaning head; it reaches higher than any other product (16m); has greater suction power – it will safely remove an engineering brick from a gutter; and its carbon fibre tubes make it extremely light. Independent tests have shown it to be 40% quicker and a significantly more effective cleaner than any other product.
The Spacevac is powered by a Nilfisk Altro vacuum and the poles have a new locking system that ensures no reduction in diameter at the joins, thus eliminating tube blockages.
Unlike other high-reach gutter cleaners, the SpaceVac is extremely lightweight and can be assembled on the ground by one person – due to heavy tubes others have to be assembled in the vertical position by two operators.
In addition to the many health and safety benefits and the elimination of costly scaffolds or cherry pickers, SpaceVac is economical on assembly time. The high-powered vacuum ensures that gutters are cleaned faster and more efficiently with less operator time.
