Today’s workplace is made up of people of all shapes and sizes, and Evac+Chair spotted a gap in the market for an evacuation chair that could accommodate an individual regardless of their weight or stature. At a time when streamlining is crucial for business success, having three types of chair is not cost-effective.


The solution was to design a ‘one size fits all’ evacuation chair that would maintain all the characteristics of the existing Evac+Chair, but would be more robust and suitable for larger payloads.


The latest Evac+Chair 500 model has the capacity to hold an individual weighing 227kg and is suitable for transporting heavier weights. The new design features smooth transportation on steep inclines of 40°, essentially reducing the strain on the operators during use.


The lightweight frame has generated additional savings to accommodate supplementary features such as a footrest, which can also be used as a support handle when the chair is being used in a two-person operation and foldaway handles for extra support. The width of the frame has also been increased and padded patient restraint straps added to allow any individual below the specified weight to be safely transported with ease.


FALCON OPEX


Opex used 2014 to announce the addition of its latest mixed document capture workstation, Falcon, to its family of prep- reducing scanners. Falcon combines Opex’s one-step drop feed scanning with the performance of a high-capacity production scanner, providing a universal document scanning workstation. From document conversion services and mobile scanning operations, to wholesale lockboxes and digital mail centres, Falcon has been designed to attack the most difficult workflow challenges.


Falcon allows operators to prep and scan documents at a faster rate than most current prep only processes. This significantly reduces costs associated with preparing documents for scanning. In addition, Falcon offers four versatile feeder options: drop-feeder, packet feeder, high-capacity feeder, and a unique rescan Feeder.


Engineered with various applications in mind, Falcon is available as a transportable unit, making it a perfect fit for mobile scanning operations.


Other notable features include a customisable work surface and optional motorised height adjustment for maximum operator comfort.
