TOMORROW’S FM AWARDS 2015

FOOTFALL MONITORING THE CHANGING WORKPLACE

Released in 2014, The Changing Workplace’s Footfall Monitoring service is part of its suite of workplace tracking solutions for the Corporate Real Estate sector. Footfall monitoring can help organisations understand how their workspace is being used at any point in time, identifying opportunities to maximise the effi ciency and effectiveness of a fl oor, building or entire portfolio.

“Our service verifi es how your portfolio’s current design and layout is working. You get a clear, detailed picture of usage and capacity, not just a snapshot,” comments Steve Thorley, CEO of The Changing Workplace.

Video-based counters detect people passing beneath and beam counters emit and detect an infrared beam, identifying people passing through, and capturing occupancy and utilisation data.

The sensor technology feeds data back to produce comprehensive and highly visual reports so that The Changing Worplace team can help with analysis and further understanding, leading to actionable data made available in formats that are easy to digest.

FREEDOR FIRECO

Fireco’s Freedor solves the common problem of fi re doors being wedged open, rendering them useless in the event of a fi re. Using patented acoustic technology, the Freedor is easily installed at the top of a fi re door, enabling the door to be safely kept open. The device continually ‘listens out’ for the sound of a fi re alarm and then automatically closes the door, protecting those behind it from the dangerous spread of smoke and fi re.

Freedor is a wireless, electrically powered free-swing door closer. The device listens for a fi re alarm meeting or exceeding 65dBA. This must sound for longer than 14 seconds in order for the door to automatically close.

The product operates up to power size three (60kg fi re door) and takes the weight out of the door, making hefty fi re doors easier to open and close. Freedor can also be adjusted in terms of the closing speed, sensitivity and latching angle. Users can also be assured that the battery life will survive for 12-18 months. For further assurances, Freedor has been designed to comply with BS EN 1154, BS EN 1155 and BS 7273-4 category B.
