Tork Shows Commitment To Better Loos By Supporting LOTY 2015

Tork manufacturer SCA is showing its support for the Loo of the Year Awards by pledging to back the 2015 event – 11 months early. This will be SCA’s seventh consecutive year an associate sponsor of the awards.

“The Loo of the Year Awards is now an industry institution, and during its 27-year history it has made great strides in improving cleanliness and hygiene levels in washrooms nationwide,” said SCA Senior Product Manager Charlotte Branwhite. “We are delighted to affiliate our company with this excellent and well- established event for a seventh year.”

The Loo of the Year Awards is run independently and promoted via the British Toilet Association. Since its introduction in 1987 the event has helped to keep the UK’s away-from- home toilets in the spotlight while applauding those providers that offer the cleanest, most hygienic facilities.

This year’s awards will be held on the 4th December and nominations are already open. Anyone can nominate noteworthy or impressive away- from-home washrooms in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

The awards cover 60 categories including the commercial, retail, hospitality, municipal and leisure sectors. Entries are also welcome from other types of facilities such as churches, parks, public gardens, sports grounds and car parks.

Overall winner at the Loo of the Year Awards 2014 was public toilet contractor Danfo. Other winners included Asda, McDonald’s and JD Wetherspoon.

Entries can be made via the awards website at www.loo.co.uk/index.php. The closing date for entries is June 30.

Axis Celebrates Successful Partnerships with New Award

Axis Cleaning and Support Services, the nationwide supplier of commercial cleaning services, has launched its Supply Recognition Awards to formally recognise the efforts of the companies it partners with, honouring loyalty and dedication that often prove so instrumental to the successful running of its major contracts.

To celebrate the launch, Axis Cleaning and Support Services has presented Supply Recognition Awards to three partners delivering separate services, but all crucial to increased efficiency and innovation.

Complete Washroom Solutions (CWS), a hygiene company providing a full range of washroom services, including air fresheners, hand hygiene, and feminine hygiene, helps Axis Cleaning and Support Services focus on reducing costs whilst never compromising their quality service. The partnership held between both companies is recent, but the value seen from CWS’ professional, thorough and bespoke service is evident through recent contract successes.

Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies is an integral aspect of a successful cleaning company, and Industrial Cleaning Equipment (ICE) provides Axis with a wide range of equipment from small vacuum cleaners to ride on sweepers. The partnership they hold has been in place for over a year, with ICE proving highly successful in ensuring the cleaning methods used are time efficient and cost effective. The Award was presented to ICE for its clear commitment to innovation within the sector.

Likewise, strong cleaning solutions always require an appropriate, practical uniform, and Axis presented a Supply Recognition Award to Arcade Styles, its provider of staff uniform. They have partnered on several major contracts, including Alstom and Arriva Trains Wales, ensuring that all parties are happy with the uniform selection.

Stuart Buswell, Managing Director of Axis Cleaning and Support Services, recognised that trustworthy and consistent suppliers are central to its success. He said: “From uniforms to the latest equipment, to washroom supplies, we are very grateful to suppliers who help ensure we can carry out our services in a smart, cost effective manner that guarantees our clients are happy with the service.

“We aim to continue the successful partnerships that are already in place, and build up future partnerships with new suppliers who can support our quality service and drive us towards more innovation and further improvement.”
