2016 Middle Level State Honors Shelley Hooper, Program Director
In preparation for the 2016 WSMA Middle Level State Honors Project October event, the Middle Level State Honors staff met at the Wisconsin Center for Music Education on Friday, July 15. The meeting allowed the coordinators and staff members to meet new staff, review the staff expectations for October and prepare the communication and music mailings that were sent to the invited students in mid-July.
Over 300 talented young musicians have been invited to participate in the 2016 WSMA Middle Level State Honors ensembles. These students have the opportunity to experience an unbelievable amount of musical growth and development that affects how they think about and play music for the rest of their life. WSMA is grateful for the dedication and com- mitment of the teachers who encourage students to audition and help make this experience possible.
Conductors for the 2016 honors ensembles include Joseph Hermann (band), Jennaya Robison (choir) and Randal Swiggum (orchestra).
