Page 39 Tanamera Launch and forthcoming events

Tanamera is a small, privately run dog rescue located in the centre of Valencia province (Canal de Navarres). We give abandoned hunting dogs a chance when they are unwanted, disowned and there is nowhere else for them to go. The local municipal dog pounds are all full. And even if they find a space, ex-hunting dogs just don’t belong there. The big dog pounds in our region do an excellent job, but they have their hands full and limited

budgets. We take care of the very old, very young, ill, abused, unsocial and even traumatised dogs. Without exception, they enter our shelter being nothing but skin and bones. So, before rehoming, they need to get their strength back, go through medical treatment and health tests, castration and, if needed, physical and mental rehabilitation. Only then can the process of rehoming begin. We are a rescue, not a dog pound, and have chosen to live with our dogs 24/7, 365 days per year. Our dogs live in total freedom, all together as one pack and are not kept in kennels. We also work a lot with foster homes to ensure the very best care for those who have suffered so much already. Our dogs become part of our own family and our foster families. Sadly, the result of working with foster homes instead of a dog pound is that our space is limited. Our strength is also our greatest weakness. Dogs need to fit into the packs and space in our homes. That is why adoptions are so important. We can only take new dogs when others leave! We can’t rescue dogs without your help. We need foster homes, sponsors and of course adopters! For more information, please check out our Facebook page: ‘Tanamera Rescue’ or visit one of our upcoming events.

Our next events are: *19th of May, Coffee and Cake Morning at Bar Mr. Punch, Jávea Park. See poster below. *4th of June, BBQ in Jávea, tickets available via Facebook page only.
