The health check, one of Medcare’s most popular promotions, concentrates on screening for cervical, breast* and bowel cancer, as well as many other conditions such as diabetes, liver and kidney disease, anaemia, infection, bowel cancer, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and thyroid problems which may otherwise go unnoticed.
Divided into two parts, the first part is carried out by Medcare’s experienced Practice Nurse, Susie, who will perform the blood tests, assess body mass index (BMI) and conduct a nutrition and lifestyle review. She will also perform an ECG, and smear test if necessary.
Returning a couple of weeks later, patients will see Practice Doctor, Dr Hussain who will discuss the results, and advise on further testing or referral should this be
required. With specialist experience in mole removal, Dr Hussain will also be able to advise on any moles giving cause for concern.
