While Gould Jones was a man of innovation, townspeople appreciate the architectural gems he left behind.
Jones loved the natural stone in Arkansas and would pay kids 50 cents to bring him a bucket of the most beautiful gems and rocks they could collect. As a result, he used ornate natural crystals and stones polished smooth by the river in his construction.
While Arkansas rock is beautiful, the pieces he selected to use are exceptional.
He built nine buildings in Jasper out of rocks, hand-made glazed bricks, and cement, all of which still stand today.
Morgan also owns Jones’ home and the stones used in the construction are stunning and truly natural treasures. The home has been converted into a cabin available for rent, and it’s a stone’s throw from the Little Buffalo River.
