he Ozark Café in Jasper is part nostalgia, part Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.


Located on the town


square, this restaurant has been around since 1909 and is still housed in the original building complete with Arkansas rock walls (the café has expanded to include three buildings but the first room is the original).


Sidle up to the nearly 30-foot long bar at the soda fountain, settle in on a barstool and order an old-fashioned malt, hand-dipped milkshake or root beer float. There are 17 flavors of ice cream and 12 options of “mix ins.”

The Ozark Cafe has been in business in Jaspar, Arkansas for over 100 years. Drawings left by patrons are part of the decor.

When some regulars walk in and spot a tourist at their table, the local will plop down at the table with them and start talking because after all, that is “their regular” table, chuckled co-owner
