SUNDAY 28th MAY

FLING FESTIVAL CLUB SUNDAY 28th MAY| 7.30PM |BRAEPORT CENTRE

A’ Jock Tamson’s Bairns

We folk of Dunblane get it. We know that Syria is in crisis. We know the politics are complex, powers involved ruthless and solutions imponderable. But we also know that it is all very simple.

People are in devastating

need and children at terrible risk. In desperation they have fl ed the chaos, and they need a welcome, a home and a future. Last month in the Victoria Hall we provided all three.

Dunblane’s fi rst ever Scottish-Syrian ceilidh was truly a night of celebration for a’ Jock Tamson’s Bairns. There was music, song and dance from both communities and delicious food donated by our ever-generous small shops and restaurants. As one Syrian boy said in his newly acquired English: ‘I love to dance – this is how we make people happy’.

The star performer of the night was Ayman Jarjour (www.aymanjarjour.com), the internationally renowned classical guitarist, born in Syria but now living here. With degrees from the Juilliard school in New York and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid he performs worldwide. Ayman gave a brief recital at the ceilidh – taking his turn among the many other fi ne off erings. Now he has agreed to come back for the last night of the Fling and give us a full evening’s recital. This is an event not to be missed – and as with the ceilidh, all proceeds will be going to charity.

The Dunblane Folk Club presents an evening of music and conversation with Ayman Jarjour
