Hello and welcome to the May-June edition of theWire!
So it’s offi cially the start of summer and time to shake off your inner sloth and believe me that’s easier said than done!! Turns out that my natural happy place is somewhere warm with a mug of tea, a TINY bit of chocolate to dunk in it ... and a few undisturbed hours with a good book! I know, my life is not exactly a roller coaster of wild nights, song and drink! However even my easily pleased dreams of happiness are not conducive to trying to rediscover my t-shirt body. Should the weather decide to grace us with even a mildly sunny day, the thought of shedding the numerous layers of comfortable clothing in favour of a muffi n-top revealing t-shirt is causing certain anxiety.... So, given the fact that I am motivated by deadlines (crushing or otherwise) it seemed prudent to sign up to a challenge - one which would make me get outside and get fi tter! I am a huge Moonwalk fan and have done a number of them over the years, so have signed up to the Edinburgh event once again. Not only will this make me get out and train and help me cast off my inner sloth, it will raise money for a wonderful cause. Walk the Walk who run the Moonwalks is a grant giving charity and most recently have been the principle funder for the fabulous new Maggie’s Centre in Larbert. Most of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another and anything which makes that experience a little easier is a great thing to support. Go to

On that note, huge thanks to those who supported the Quiz and Curry night at the Dunblane Centre.
of money for Walk the Walk!
So may the sun shine on our training and we become motivated and get fi tter whatever our goals. Although, its not wise to rush these things, so maybe a little sit down with a cup of tea, just long enough to read this issue would be ok....
Enjoy the magazine! Fiona
