Overcoming Dyslexia
Dyslexia is something many people have heard of but it remains poorly understood. When asked, people often say that dyslexia is when people have diffi cultly seeing and understanding words or when they see letters move whilst reading.
In fact, whilst
these traits may be common amongst dyslexics, dyslexia in fact covers a wide range of issues which inhibit fl uent reading; slow processing speed due to ineffi cient auditory and visual processing issues and working memory issues all come within the defi nition of dyslexia.
In essence, the brain
processes things diff erently if you are dyslexic and this can have a major impact on school work, job prospects and overall self esteem.

Parents who suspect their child is dyslexic should always consult their child’s school in the fi rst instance. There are many resources, coupled with good teaching practice, which can help children with processing issues.
However, sometimes alternative approaches are sought.
Cellfi eld is a powerful, dynamic programme available in Stirling which has been helping people overcome dyslexia and similar processing diffi culties since it was introduced to the UK by former Headteacher, Fiona Macdiarmid. Fiona is well-known in the area as she also runs the popular Kip McGrath tuition centre. “Cellfi eld is the most exciting development I have come across in my 30 year career in education” says Fiona, “Cellfi eld enable people to unlock their potential because it helps them overcome whatever processing diffi culty is obstructing their learning”.
Based on neuroscience and brain plasticity research, Cellfi eld stimulates the visual and auditory aspects of reading to bring about sustainable improvements in reading and language processing.
In addition to
average gains in reading age of over 2 years after just 10 days, many Cellfi eld clients agree that it has changed their lives because of the positive impact it has on their overall self esteem. Contact Cellfi eld on 01786 447527
