HIRING OUT SPORTS FACILITIES?


Sport England (suppliers of funding and services to sport in England – see p30) stresses that when hiring out facilities there is no ‘one-size-fits-all model’. In order to help schools, it has developed an online resource called Use Our School (sportengland.org/facilities- planning/use-our-school/). ‘We know what an important


role schools play in their local community and we want to


support those schools who already open up their facilities for community use and those who are considering doing so,’ says Jayne Molyneux, Strategic Lead Youth at Sport England. Among other things, the Use


Our School resource includes information on different ways of running facilities hire, operating safely, managing finances, best practice case studies and FAQs.
