MBA has planned a great slate of clinics for the 2017 MBA Summer Convention at Tan-Tar-A June 18-21, 2017, Osage Beach, MO. A wide variety of topics designed to educate and motivate the working music educator in preparation for your next challenging school year! The Missouri Bandmasters Association’s goal is to pack this year’s convention full of clinics and concerts to meet your professional needs.

Own” and the 2018 Conductor of the Missouri All-State Band * Harry Watters, internationally renowned jazz trombonist * Spirit of Independence Community Band, under the direction of Jane Hicklin * “Zen and the Art of Percussion Maintenance” will be a hands-on repair clinic with Bill Williams * “Claude T. Smith: Harmony from Within” Biography Clinic presented by Pam Smith Kelly * Beginning band instrumental technique clinic * All-State Band: Musical guidance to help prepare successful auditions * Concert Band Reading Session sponsored by J.W. Pepper

The Resort provides golf cart transportation around the complex for ease of access. This service is readily available and will be expanded to serve our membership. Thank you to Paul Fliege, All-state Band Coordinator/President-elect, for organizing the All-state Band auditions, rehearsals, and performance. His dedication and attention to detail created the opportunity for a memorable experience for all students. Dr. Carolyn Barber’s expertise led the All-state Band through engaging and thought-provoking rehearsals to create an unforgettable musical experience for all in attendance Saturday afternoon in Salon A.
