BA revives Iran service with six flights a week

British Airways will begin direct flights from Heathrow to Tehran on September 2.


The launch follows the end of


international sanctions on Iran in January and marks a return to the Iranian capital for BA after the cessation of BMI flights soon after BA acquired the carrier in 2012. Services will operate six times a


week, excluding Sundays, using a four-class, 224-seat Boeing 777. Flights depart Heathrow


Terminal 5 at 21.00, arriving in Tehran at 06.25. Return flights


Finnair to fly five times a week from Scotland to Helsinki next year


Finnair will offer additional flights from Edinburgh to Helsinki from April, providing increased connections to Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul and across its long-haul network. The carrier launched services


from Edinburgh in April, flying three times a week. It will move to five days for summer 2017 with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Finnair operates a 138-seat


Airbus A319 on the route, with economy and business classes. It offers journey times from


Edinburgh to Hong Kong of just over 13 hours and to Beijing of 14 hours.
