After enjoying a successful launch at this year’s Irish Beauty Show, Bio Sculpture’s new system, Evo Oxygenating Gel, is now available. We spoke to Sinéad Mydat, Director of Bio Sculpture Gel Ireland, to discover more about the brand’s latest innovation…

If you headed to the Irish Beauty Show this Spring, no doubt you will have caught a glimpse of the newest addition to the Bio Sculpture family - Evo Oxygenating Gel.

Already renowned for its unique range of gels which provide the wearer with permanent, chip- resistant and smudge-resistant nail colour, Bio Sculpture’s enduring popularity can also be attributed to its focus on putting the health of clients’ nails at the forefront. And when it came to developing a new gel polish system for the market, this philosophy was once again of upmost importance.

“For a few years we have been getting requests from clients to bring out a gel polish,” reveals Sinéad Mydat, Director of Bio Sculpture Gel Ireland. “Our ethos has always been ‘the healthier alternative in nail care’ i.e. not causing damage to the natural nail. Bio Sculpture wanted to make sure that if they produced a gel polish, it would follow the Bio Sculpture ethos.”

“The nail market is flooded with ‘hybrids’ and gel polishes, some containing harmful ingredients, others containing primers that dehydrate, weaken and damage the natural nail – most of these systems only last seven to ten days,” Sinéad continues. “Bio Sculpture is about nourishment and keeping the nails healthy. So after years of researching and testing, Bio Sculpture finally released a product they felt would continue down the ‘healthier road’.”

Time to evolve

Years in the making, Evo Oxygenating Gel is a quick and healthy, bottle-and-brush system for professional use, and can only be purchased by qualified nail technicians. It has been designed for both long and short colour overlays and is ideal for those who are looking for beautiful, shiny nails that will last for up to three weeks.

So how does this system differ to other gel polishes? The answer lies in its medical grade formulation which

features vitamins A and E.

“Evo is infused with vitamins A and E that migrate to the nail plate, even after curing,” explains Sinéad. “It also does not contain any harmful ingredients and protects the natural nails with a flexible base. Like Bio Sculpture Gel, Evo is self-levelling, easy to remove and has a long- lasting high gloss finish. Unlike other gel polishes and hybrids on the market, Evo can be sculpted to extend the nail, infilled and a tip can be applied without the use of glue.

“As we say to people ‘it’s all about the Base’. Evo Oxygenating Base is permeable, allowing oxygen and water vapour to move freely to and from the nail plate, preventing dehydration and softening of the keratin that may damage the natural nail. Evo Base is also a Medical Grade formulation which means it is of exceptionally high quality.”

Ready to launch

Evo was introduced this March and includes a large collection of colours.
