Melissa Dennis Irish Beauty Editor

With Father’s Day just around the corner (Sunday 19th June for those who’ve forgotten!), and International Men’s Health Week from Monday 13th June until Sunday 19th June, this month it’s time to look after the boys! If you’ve previously offered male treatments with little success, then perhaps you’ve approached it the wrong way. Think honestly, how many men do you know that would walk into your salon and request some skin or nail care advice? Whilst there is certainly a proportion that would, the vast

majority will still need some encouragement and incentive. As Olivia Slack tells us in her Male Skin Care feature this month, “Not every man is savvy when it comes to skin care, so they may still need a little help in understanding what treatments and products are available to them. There has never been a better time to cater for the male market in your salon.” Evidence shows that men are loyal to a product or brand that delivers results, so provide them with an outstanding service for a single treatment and you’re likely to have them in your appointment book again in the future. And it’s not just skin care where you can tempt in the men; think male manicures, tanning, waxing, brow shaping – most of your menu can be tailored to males with just a little marketing imagination.

With very best wishes,
