Head of Communications unveiled


The International Institute for Anti-Ageing has announced the appointment of Ewa Johnson as Head of Communications for UK and Ireland.


Working across the iiaa’s extensive professional beauty channels, Ewa’s remit will orchestrate the direction of the marketing and communication strategy and planning as well as leading the teams responsible for promoting the company’s brand, commercial products and value add services to its customer and stakeholder base. Ewa will also oversee marketing the growth of related iiaa services including training, college partnerships and specialist beauty recruitment.


Responsible recycling


The Depilar System, an enzyme based permanent hair removal system distributed in Ireland by Wax Logic, has introduced a recycling program to support global efforts towards greater sustainability.


“The Depilar System Ltd has two core values, to remove hair safely using natural ingredients and to reduce our impact on the environment,” says Wax Logic’s Noiren Carrigg. “We achieved the first by using natural proteolitic enzymes in our formula and for the second we wanted to go beyond just making all Depilar System components of our packaging recyclable.”


“We have set up a recycling collection program to reduce our impact on the environment,” Noiren told us. “The program encourages recycling of our packaging by offering customers that return empty used packaging to us a 10% discount to future orders. For each empty kit returned to us, Depilar System will give a 10% discount on another newly purchased kit.”


Anniversary celebrations


As Matis celebrate 80 years in skin care, the brand recently held an anniversary event at the prestigious Dylan Hotel for its customers.


Matis Paris’ Global Education Ambassador, Laurédanne Roman, was also in attendance as guests learnt more about upcoming products and protocol launches whilst sipping on champagne.


“Founded in 1936 in Paris, Matis is one of few premium skin care brands dedicated to the professional distribution network,” says Niamh Kearney of Star Products, who distribute the range in Ireland. “From New York to Hong Kong, to Tokyo and Moscow, more than three out of four customers are international making Matis a benchmark brand in the global cosmetics market.”
