Magic Cities South Germany by Train
Day 1 Frankfurt Arrival at Frankfurt airport and transfer to the hotel. Private tour of Frankfurt with driver-guide (2.5 hours). Explore the city and visit the beautifully restored neighbor- hood of Römerberg on the banks of the Main river and the lovely muse- ums along the shore. Also explore the Fressgass street, the old Opera and the elegant Goethestrasse. The tour also includes a visit to Goethe’s house, St. Paul’s church and the Hauptwache for a fabulous view of the city.
Day 2 Frankfurt - Nuremberg Transfer to the train station where you will board a train to Nurem- berg (travel time: 2:05 hours). Ar- rival in Nuremberg and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a 2-hour private walking tour of the historic city center.
Day 3 Nuremberg - Munich Transfer to the train station where you will board a train to Munich (travel time: 1:20 hours.). Arrival in Munich and transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure.
Day 4 Munich Visit Munich by hop-on/hop off tourist bus. You may disembark at any of the stops and visit the attractions of your choice. Then board the bus and continue to the next place of interest. Stops inclu- de the Pinacoteca, Odeon square, the National Theatre, Max Joseph Platz, Marienplatz, the City Hall, the Frauenkirche church and the Viktualienmarkt street market.
Day 5 Munich - Neuschwan- stein - Munich Join a regular excursion to visit the most famous castle in Germany, Neuschwanstein. The castle was built by Ludwig II, who was also known as the Mad King because of his unique personality and eccen- tricities. The Bavarian king com- missioned the construction bet- ween 1869 and 1886. He wanted it to resemble the medieval castles of the German knights combined with a neo-romantic style. This castle served as the inspiration for Walt Disney when he created the castle of Sleeping Beauty in Dis- neyland. Return to Munich in the afternoon.
Day 6 Munich - Stuttgart After breakfast transfer to the train station to board a train to Stuttgart (travel time: 2:15 hours). Arrival and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the city that is well known for famous car models such as Mercedes Benz and Porsche.
Day 7 Stuttgart - Frankfurt After breakfast transfer to the train station to board a train to Frankfurt (travel time: 1:35 hours). The tour will conclude in the city of Frank- furt or at Frankfurt Airport.
