Riverside Retreat owner Carol Jackson and her husband, Chris, traded the hustle and bustle of Little Rock for peace and tranquility.
Little Rock when one day he came home and told Carol he wanted to do something different. They sat down and talked for a few hours and the idea of building a resort came up.
Two days later, Chris came home and said he wanted to do it. So they sold their businesses, bought land and built the resort. He is the fishing guide and she helps run the resort and also homeschools their youngest child. There are a variety of cabin and lodge options on site. Call (870) 499-3056.
An excellent nearby restaurant is the River Run Restaurant at PJ’s White River Lodge, 384 Lodge Lane, in Norfork. Reservations are a must at this popular family-run restaurant which features steak, smoked trout, bacon-wrapped quail, walleye Almondine, incredible hot spinach artichoke dip and multi-layer coconut cake. The desserts are divine.
The intimate restaurant has gorgeous views of the river and it will make you want to linger here for hours. There is a full bar and great wine list. PJ’s offers lodging,
