Fergus Moore, one of the founders of Revive Eco, who are described as a waste rejuvenation ‘eco-prise’, collecting used coffee grounds from cafés and restaurants and extracting the oils for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and biofuels, said: “It’s amazing. We are a young business. We graduated from Strathclyde University last year. We all studied at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship. We all went to the same primary school, high school and university. We’re still at an early stage with the business. It’s recognition like this that will give us the drive to push forward. We hope it will help us with further financing too. Training is at the heart of everything we do. Most of the guys in the team around our table tonight have been apprentices and worked their way up. This is what City Building is all about. Tonight we’ve got joiners and modern apprentice administration staff. When we go back tomorrow we will send a message out on the intranet to tell all the employees.
