This docu- mentary tells the whole story, from the begin- nings up through the tragic end, but the story in between is quite amazing and interesting. The store became so huge that the stars even shopped there, not the least of which was Elton John who came in once a week and went through every record bin, purchasing three copies of everything new that he was in- terested. This is a celebration of a time not so long ago when shopping for records meant getting in your car and driving to the store and going in to flip through racks of albums and singles, rather than clicking on a link. Truly the good ol’ days… Eat That Ques- tion: Frank Zappa in His Own Words (Sony) is an amazing collection of Zappa in- terviews and rants over the years, all the way from the beginning of his career until shortly
before his untimely
death.These are the rarest of clips, many never before seen, culled from Frank’s 30- year career. There are 90 minutes of Frank speaking, well, “Frankly.” Always out- spoken, always brilliant. Included are the PMRC hearings of the 1980’s, with Frank standing
steadfast against censorship in front of a lynch mob of political and religious folk who vastly underestimated his genius. Eat That Question is a must have for all Zappa fans. •
