The Original Charity Shop And Library Jávea Christmas Raffle

Tickets are now on sale for the Original Charity Shop and Library Christmas Raffle. Once again local businesses and sponsors have been very generous. There are lots of fabulous prizes to be won: A large TV, hampers filled with Christmas goodies, vouchers for hairdressing, beauty treatment and restaurants, wine, chocolates and many other great prizes.

A strip of 5 tickets will cost you only 3€, giving you the opportunity to win a great prize and at the same time support our campaign to provide Christmas gifts for the children attending the Raquel Paya School for children with special needs. The children are already looking forward to Santa’s visit so your generous contribution will ensure that they are not disappointed. The draw takes place on Saturday, 17th December, at 12 noon in the shop on Avenida Fontana 14, Jávea.

Another successful Macmillan event for Sue and Pat

This year Sue and Pat Donovan once again opened their home and garden on Friday 30th September for another MacMillan Cancer Support Group event in Moraira, Spain, and raised in excess of 4000€.

FF Serving the community since 1993

The auction raised 1515€ and the auctioneer, Lee from Druids Cave in Moraira, once again entertained everyone with his usual wit. Alan, the ‘Jag Man’, did likewise showing off the auction items in all their splendour.

Muku from the Kathmandu Indian restaurant in Moraira donated 300€ following a dinner organised by Sue in aid of the charity, which was well attended and enjoyed by all.

Once again the number of raffle prizes which had been kindly donated by local businesses, restaurants and friends etc were amazing. Friends also provided some splendid tapas and this year ‘tapas and drinks’ for 10€ a head were provided which was very successful. Jewellery was also on sale – half of this money going back to the deprived area of Kampala, N Uganda, where the items were hand made from recycled magazines. Jane, Sue’s sister, donated some of her hand made cards - all of which quickly sold out.

Live music was kindly performed by Dave Peachey, Graham Sherin and Mr Honkytonk which everyone enjoyed.

Sue and Pat would like to thank their many friends and family who helped out on the day – without them the event could not have happened.
