CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE...
Scottish Pharmacist is already preparing for one fantastic night in March 2017, when the spotlight will once again fall on the great work that’s being done in healthcare across Scotland.
On the evening of Saturday 11 March 2017, respected members of the pharmacy profession, representatives from the pharmaceutical industry and members of the industry’s professional bodies will all converge on the Edinburgh International Conference Centre to celebrate the highlight of the pharmacy calendar: the Scottish Pharmacist Awards.
The awards provide an opportunity for pharmacy professional bodies, pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies to celebrate innovation, commitment and dedication to the profession.
2017 marks the eighth anniversary of the Scottish Pharmacist Awards, and we want YOU to join us to both celebrate pharmacy’s fantastic achievements AND to have a fantastic evening!
This year’s event promises to be just as glittering as ever and we’d like to take a moment to thank our sponsors for all of their support. We are, of course, delighted to welcome back our event partner, AAH, but would also like to thank our other sponsors for their continued support.
The Scottish Pharmacist Awards are designed to showcase successful projects or initiatives by individuals and teams, which refl ect the contribution that pharmacy makes to Scottish healthcare on a daily basis!
So, now’s the time to showcase YOUR talents and achievements by applying for one of our fantastic award categories.....just take a look!
Over the last eight years, we’ve consistently delivered a cross-industry awards programme, which has refl ected excellence in pharmaceutical care in a variety of categories, and this year promises more of the same...
This year there are ten categories to choose from, covering every aspect of pharmacy excellence: from innovation and change to business development. As always, we’re moving with the trends so, this year, we’ve introduced two new awards, which refl ect the changes in pharmacy delivery.
Pharmacy technicians, dispensing staff and assistants in both the hospital and community setting are playing an increasingly important supporting role, allowing pharmacists to spend more time in patient consultations, and the inaugural Community or
Hospital Pharmacy Team Member of the Year award will reward this contribution to enhancing healthcare.
Prescription for Excellence, meanwhile, has determined that all community pharmacists will become independent prescribers, so the new Independent Prescriber of the Year award will reward pharmacists for enhancing the offering of care they provide.
If you take a look at this year’s categories, you’re sure to fi nd one that refl ects the great work that you and your pharmacy team have been doing over the past year. Success in our awards is recognised throughout Scottish pharmacy and carries with it a high degree of prestige. But don’t just take our word for
