Celebrity Equinox and Eurodam by Michael W. Smith
I hope my previous article on Thompson cruises was of interest. This article is aimed at maritime enthusiasts, anyone considering a cruising holiday, or seasoned cruisers perhaps unfamiliar with a different class of vessel. I hope that this information helps when you are planning your first or next cruise.
Visiting Alicante on 1st August, “Celebrity Equinox” (pictured top left) was alongside having arrived from Barcelona, and later departing for Valetta, Malta.
Celebtity cruises is a premium cruise line founded in 1988 by the Greek based Chandris Group. The signature ‘X’ on the funnel(s) is the Greek letter ‘chi’ for Chandris.
A word here on dress code which applies generally to this class of ship for the majority of cruise lines. Main dining room, daytime is normally casual but passengers tend to dress-up for dinner.
What was ‘formal night’ within ‘Celebrity’ is now ‘chic’ - men - a jacket and collared shirt with designer jeans. Ladies can wear cocktail dresses, sundresses, designer jeans or smart trousers.
“Celebrity Equinox” is a mid size ship for 2,850 passengers.
On the 8th August I visited Cartagena where Holland America’s “Eurodam” (pictured bottom left) was alongside having arrived from Valencia, and later departing for Malaga.
This is also a mid size ship for 2,104 passengers.
Dress code - formal nights are considered quite formal with many men wearing tuxedos or dark suits. Ladies wear long gowns or elegant ensembles. Informal gear is appropriate for outer decks but not so much for restaurants though normally acceptable in the buffets - similar to Celebrity cruises.

Inky, Dinky, Scarlet and Memphis were found abandoned. They were born about the second week in June. All four kittens are amazing and if you want to share your home with a true feline then these kittens will suit
